Barbie Store

Event Merchandising is delighted to launch the first ever UK dedicated Barbie store with Mattel.

Next to the Apple store in Liverpool One. Bright neon pink, carrying an exclusive range of clothing and accessories for the fashion conscious, with mini me collections and a wide array of dolls. The store feature life sized barbie boxes and a barbie jeep for that instagram moment . Event Merchandising sourced the location, built the store, designed and manufactured exclusive product as well as running the store. The opening weekend was super busy, full of families loving the Barbie shop. The Liverpool echo sums it up perfectly, as the “UK’s only Barbie shop has opened in Liverpool and it looks like all our childhood dreams have come true”

Rubik Event Merchandising Pop up shop

On the 1st-2nd October, Rubik’s Cube Pop-up store opened its doors in celebration of their upcoming 40th anniversary. Event Merchandising partnered with Rubik’s to bring the pop up shop to Covent Garden. The colourful and dynamic store ignited vast interest amongst passers-by, many of whom have known and loved the colourful cube for many years as well as others who were intrigued by what they thought to be an impossible puzzle.

Alongside the official Rubik’s products, Event Merchandising created and produced a gift range for the shop, comprising of a T-shirt, mug, cap and tote bag, all of which provided a range of T-shirts, mugs, caps, tote bags and more at the store which was popular amongst tourists, Rubik’s fans as well as determined first-time triers.Influencers gave the cube a try with the help of Rubik’s record-holders who were present to also help customers solve the cube. Upon completion, each participant earned an official attempt medal for contributing to The Guinness World Record for the most individuals contributing to a single Rubik’s Cube mosaic, which formed a portrait of His Royal Highness the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry.

Sail GP

Event Merchandising built and operated state of the art retail container and pop up stores for Sail GP in San Fran and New York.

Event was selling a high end range of performance clothing and accessories.

    

In front of huge crowds lining the waterfront in downtown Manhattan, the Japan SailGP Team – led by double Olympic medalist Nathan Outteridge – beat off strong competition from Tom Slingsby’s Australia SailGP Team to win its first event in the inaugural SailGP season.
An intense final match race took place between the two notorious rivals on the Hudson River racecourse, which saw drama before the start as the high-powered F50s, capable of intense speeds, made contact. A penalty to Australia saw Japan eventually get the better of the season’s leaders and take the victory in New York.SailGP’s next stop is Cowes, UK, over the weekend of August 10-11, when the home of British sailing will be able to witness the intense racing and awe-inspiring speeds of the F50s.

Love Supreme 2019

On the weekend of the 5th – 7th July 2019, Love Supreme held the 7th year of Love Supreme, a jazz festival that takes place in Glynde Place, East Sussex since 2013.

The festival founded by Ciro Romano, has hosted major jazz and soul artists such as Herbie Hancock, Earth Wind & Fire, Grace Jones, Jamie Cullum, Gregory Porter, Melody Gardot and Chaka Khan.

This year, the attendees enjoyed 3 days of music in the sun, with a one of a kind line-up consisting of Ms. Lauryn Hill, The Cinematic Orchestra, Gladys Knight, Jamie Cullum, Snarky Puppy and Jimmy Cliff among others.

 

At Love Supreme, the concerts take place on 4 stages : the Main Stage whic features headliners, The Big Top, which host the best international Jazz artists, The Arena, that introduces the newest talents and The Bandstand, that present locals bands and artists

Capital FM’s Summertime Ball 2019

On Saturday 8th June, Summertime Ball was held at Wembley Stadium, gathering some of the biggest trending artists worldwide.

Whilst broadcasting live on Capital FM’s website and radio station, 80,000 attendees raved it up enjoying this incredible show!

The show featured regular Summertime Ball artists; Rita Ora, Jess Glynne, Cavin Harris, Ellie Goulding and Sigala. As well as first timers Maroon 5, Halsey, Khalid and Jonas Brothers.

Here are some of our favourite performances!

 

Anne–Marie

For the third consecutive year, Global Awards winner (for Best Pop) Anne-Marie joined the Summertime Ball stage. The 28 year old singer thrilled the audience with some extracts of Speak Your Mind, the biggest selling debut album of the year, including our best-loved Friends, featuring DJ Marshmello.

 

Jonas Blue

With over 2.2 billion views on YouTube and 40 millions singles sold worldwide, London based DJ and Producer Jonas Blue made the crowd dance. Alongside his very special guest, 20 year old singer and rising star, HRVY.

 

Jax Jones

Grammy Awards Nominee Jax Jones made the audience party hard! The DJ played a set of 7 songs with the most outstanding performance being Instruction featuring Stefflon Don and a group of Brazilian dancers. The performance was one of a kind with it’s carnival vibe.

 

Jonas Brothers

For their first show in the UK since their reunion, Nick, Joe and Kevin chose the Summertime Ball and didn’t disappoint us! With 23 million singles sold worldwide and more than 750 million YouTube views, the boys pleased all with a mix of old and new songs, and concluded by inviting the band Busted, to play Year 3000 with them.

 

5 Seconds of Summer

Luke, Ashton, Michael and Calum were here to ignite Wembley stadium with their world famous  songs She Looks So Perfect and Youngblood. The Australian band sold over 11 million singles worldwide and have over 1.6 billion views on YouTube.

 

Maroon 5

Certainly one of the most popular bands in the world, Maroon 5 succeeds in making all generations dance. They sung their oldest song This Love and more recent ones Girls, not forgetting Moves Like Jagger. The Crowd at Wembley Stadium and the band sang in union Alphaville’s  Forever Young.

 

Calvin Harris

The end of the show was totally mind blowing! Grammy award winner DJ Calvin Harris who has 10 billion views on YouTube was on fire! He played his most famous hits like Summer, We Found Love, How Deep Is Your Love and many more…

National Eagle Day

What is National Eagle Day?

National Eagle Day will take place on the 20th of June 2019 in the United States. On this day in 1782, The Great Seal of the US was adopted, portraying the Bald Eagle in the middle. This day honours and reminds people of the role that the eagle played during the history of the USA.

The first National Eagle Day took place in 1995, thanks to the initiative of Bill Clinton, Don Sundquist, the Tennessee Governor, and the American Eagle Foundation. The American Eagle Foundation is a Tennessee organization for the protection of the Bald Eagle, which still sponsors events occurring to this day.

In addition to celebrating this symbol of the USA and the country itself, National Eagle Day is also a way to raise awareness about the Bald Eagle and the importance of preserving its natural habitat and the wildlife.

In fact, the Bald Eagle experienced a big risk of extinction in the 1950s, due to the loss of its habitat, illegal hunting and pesticides like DDT which damages their eggs.

Nevertheless, thanks to the hard work of NGO for the protection of this animal, it went from endangered in 1967 to threatened in 1995.

What does the Bald Eagle Symbolise?

The Bald Eagle is portrayed on the Great Seal of the US holding an olive branch in one of its claws, and 13 arrows in the other.It represents the commitment that the US made towards peace and the original 13 states in the country.

The Bald Eagle is an iconic symbol in the US, symbolizing long life, strength, majesty and national pride. This bird also has an important meaning in lots of native American cultures and religion, illustrating freedom, wisdom, honesty and power.

The Bald Eagle is now depicted on the back of gold coins and American passports, amongst other goods

Opposingly, Benjamin Franklin (a founding father), wanted the turkey to become the symbol of the US. According to Franklin, the Bald Eagle is “a bird of bad moral character”. In despite of this, the congress accepted the eagle as the emblem of the US.

 

National Eagle Day Celebration

Although this day is not a public holiday, conservation and educational organizations will hold lectures, workshops or informative sessions, in order to sensitize about the protection of the Bald Eagle. To celebrate this day, you can wear your most beautiful outfit picturing the bird or make a commitment to help the preservation of it, by giving a donation to the American Eagle Foundation or becoming a volunteer.

Missing Link

After 3 years in the making and months of TV advertising, Laika’s new stop-motion animation film release “Missing Link” has finally hit the cinema screens worldwide, and Event Merchandising is proud to be a part of the launch!

Starring the voices of Hugh Jackman and Zach Galifianakis, Missing Link tells the story of Sir Lionel Frost (Hugh Jackman), an explorer of mythical beings, who embarks on an adventurous journey with Mr Link (a mythical being), to fulfill their joint mission of finding Mr Link’s family. The mission takes them through the fabled valley of Shangri-La which encounters danger of course, with villains hell bent on standing in their way, but will they make it with the help of resourceful adventurer Adelina Fortnight?… Bursting with humour, Missing Link answers the questions surrounding the past and future of mankind.

 

In conjunction with the film release, Event Merchandising was asked to use its expertise in film and creative merchandising, to design an online retail range of official Missing Link merchandise for kids and adults. The range boasts vibrancy and colour, a true representation of Laika’s fabulous character creations, and illustrates the film’s witty humour and captions throughout.

Part of the hero range is our creatively designed Mr Link’s “Things Are Looking Hairy” socks which is sure to be a winner amongst all!
