The DanTDM Fidget Spinner

Fans cause DanTDM fidget spinners to sell out within hours of going live.

In the last few weeks, the UK has gone crazy over the new ‘must have product.’ Fidget spinners have stormed the UK markets and are literally the toy on everyone’s fingers. People are realising the potential benefits of having a toy spinner, whether that is in a primary school classroom or a sweaty office. The fidget spinners can spark creative energy, help workers to focus, and can even be a tool to distract from dirty habits (don’t make us list them off!).

We wanted to introduce this hot new product to our clients. The spinner certainly caught the eye with a particular somebody.

YouTube sensation DanTD fell in love with the fidget spinner! He couldn’t believe the hype surrounding them and wanted to present fans the chance of having their own DanTDM branded spinner.

The vlogger phenomenon posted this video last night at 9pm. Once the video went live, fans went bonkers purchasing the toy.

Dan fanatics have the choice between a blue or black toy spinner, see images below. By midnight both spinners had sold out but here at EML we are quick to re-order stock, making sure customers are not left empty handed. Why not brand your own fidget spinner? promofidgetspinner.com

The 2017 London Marathon saw a record number of runners who received rousing royal support.

On Sunday 23rd April, London came together for the 37th London Marathon. The organisers reported a total number of 40,382 runners, a record number of participants.

The sun was shinning all day as swarms of supporters filled the streets of London, cheering on families and friends running from all over the world.

Amongst the bustling crowds were the royal trio, sporting their Heads Together jackets, who were high-fiving runners,  fully embracing the occasion and perhaps getting involved a bit too much.

Starting out as a freelancer in the world of retail and exhibition displays, Martin saw an opportunity to start up his own business in branded concert merchandise in the UK, in conjunction with his brother Harvey Goldsmith– well known promoter in the music industry.

Martin Goldsmith, Founder Chairman of EML: “I approached Cliff Richard whose words still ring in my ears- ‘Who in the hell wants to buy a T-Shirt with my face on it?’ 40 years later the fans are still buying his swag.”

Martin was never afraid to use his sons for modelling ;)

One of Martin’s greatest days was trading at Wembley Stadium- World Wrestling Federation Summer Slam 1992 (professional wrestling), selling an impressive £1m+. His most pleasurable times have been working with Pavarotti and Live Aid amongst a whole host of renowned artist and events.

Martin has taken a step back from the fast paced merchandise industry, enjoying life loving tennis and jazz (and keeping the office tidy!), whilst the company continues to grow in the hands of his son’s Jeremy and Paul, with the support from a fantastic and loyal team of course!

Another night to remember for the music industry as fans and critics came together to celebrate a superb year for global music at The BRITs

When February rolls round here at Event HQ we start getting very excited! We start designing and producing merchandise for one of the biggest music events of the year- The BRITs.

This year was another huge hit for the BRITs. The music industry and members of the public congregated at London’s O2 Arena to celebrate another fantastic year for the global chart music. The night was dominated by legend David Bowie, who sadly died last January. The iconic soloist won ‘Best British Male,’ and ‘Best British Album,’ for his stunning album ‘BlackStar.’

This year saw ‘Grime’ enter the fold with grime artist Skepta at the helm and will no doubt be a favourited nominee for BRITs 2018. The 1975 won ‘Best Group’ whilst X Factor girl star group Little Mix won ‘Best Single,’ for the smash hit ‘Shout Out To My Ex.’

When I Say ‘Honey’ You Say ‘G.’

The 2016 X Factor proved to be another memorable one, thanks to the wild controversial contestant, Honey G, who, like it or not, rapped her way to stardom.

After loosing out, Honey G, real name Anna Gilford, then went onto to launch a brand new single ‘The Honey G Show.’ As part of the release, the North Wheezy rapper bowled up to the EML office and spat some bars for us saying how she wanted to have her own swag. Blown away by her performance, we decided to produce the merchandise.

What we did not entail was the huge interest we had from the media. The coverage we received is certainly one of Event’s most successful PR campaigns. The merchandise was picked up by OK Magazine, The Daily Star and The Sun to name a few.

Merchandise For Hull 2017 City Of Culture

Come January 2017 the citizens of Hull will be dressed head to toe in merchandise backing their home turf in it’s reign as the new City Of Culture

Back in November it was announced that Hull was crowned the new ‘City Of Culture.’ They faced stiff competition form other cities such as Leicester and Swansea, but were declared victorious, perhaps a surprise to some. However the city has thrived and strived since taking the crown.

Hull 2017 City of Culture Merchandise

Hull 2017 City of Culture Merchandise

Our in-house design team have now transformed the hull streets into chic with our merchandise which will make anyone weak at the knees and digging into their pockets- it’s some of the coolest merch out there! Who wants Armani or Versace when you can have a Hull 2017 t-shirt for Xmas?! That’s right, we even managed to the supply the merchandise in time for the Christmas period, which is available to buy in the House Of Fraser store in the city centre.

The culture vultures are hovering in the skies waiting to swoop down and grab their merch which Phil Batty, director of marketing for Hull, says is a great opportunity to get in amongst the city’s historical achievement.

Phil Batty, director of marketing: “With one of the most important years in this city’s history just weeks away, Hull 2017 official merchandise is a fantastic opportunity to grab a souvenir to go with the memories being UK City of Culture will bring.”

The city will be holding events throughout 2017 to celebrate which our merchandise will be available at. Check out the full article from the Hull Daily Mail here.

Rebecca Ferguson Superwoman Tour

After much anticipation the Liverpudlian singer Rebecca Ferguson embarked on her latest tour promoting her new album ‘Superwoman,’ and EML were asked to hop on the tour bus and sell the official merchandise.

She has left fans begging for more night after night: Rebecca Ferguson, the Liverpudlian lass with a soft heart but powerful vocals, is currently undergoing the biggest tour of her career so far. After postponing the original dates to work on her new album, ‘Superwoman’ is the long-awaited gem fans have been craving for.

Rebecca Ferguson Superwoman

Rebecca Ferguson Superwoman

Her journey began in 2010 when she finished as a runner up in the X Factor. However, the pop and soul singer songwriter is arguably one of the greatest exports to derive from the show. Her debut album ‘Heaven’ went on to sell over a million copies, whilst the difficult second album syndrome appeared to not phase her and went on to be well received by both fans and critics. Last year she released a covers album titled ‘Lady Sings The Blues,’ and now has completed writing her third album ‘Superwoman.’

Rebecca Ferguson live At The Palladium London

Rebecca Ferguson live At The Palladium London.

EML have loved the experience of producing the official Rebecca Ferguson merchandise for the tour. We even sent our youngest member of the team Louis out on the road to travel with Rebecca and the crew which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Louis explained; “Rebecca was everything you imagine her to be: kind, down-to-earth and very welcoming. Every night she was always willing to sign programmes and CDs, which was great of her to have done.”

The tour began up in Llandudno Wales and has since made its way to Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle and many more destinations. She recently performed at London’s Palladium which was regarded her best performance of the tour so far. A few jaws were left gaping when Rebecca elegantly graced the stage in a range of stunning outfits.

Rebecca, mother of 3, truly does define the superwoman figure. She is certainly a role model and has embraced the chaos of music and fame in her stride whilst managing to also raise her children single handedly. The album has been adored by fans since it was released and the tour has been a tremendous success for EML and everyone involved. Why not check out the various products we have made for Rebecca by clicking here.

Music Madness

Music makes the world go round, and makes our Summer very enjoyable!

Summer is always a manic time for us at EML. But the mayhem is all forgotten about with the help of music! It is always exciting to be part of some of the biggest music festivals in the UK, but sadly the festival season is drawing to it’s inevitable end, sad times 🙁

We have been front of house managers at some of this year’s top festivals, as part of our Event Live Sponsorship service. We provide promoters and venues a service which stretches across supplying food and beverage concessions, VIP enclosures, branded partnerships, sampling and experiential activations. So at some events we’ve had double the work, and fun of course, as front of house managers and officinal merchandisers. Let’s take a stroll down memory lane to recap on some of the highlights of our manic music event season.

Nile Rodgers Rocking Out

Nile Rodgers Rocking Out

Fold Festival/Nocturne

June seems like many moons ago however, it was the beginning of the long and winding road for EML as our first stop was at Fulham Palace, London. AH FREAK OUT! We certainly did! Fold Festival was hosted by the superstar Nile Rodgers, the much loved and celebrated songwriter known for his work with his disco infused band Chic who played 3 nights in a row at this event! Mr Rodgers also hopped up on stage with other acts such as Alison Moyet and Beck.

On the same weekend, EML were merchandisers at Blenheim Palace for Nocturne Festival. Crowds were wowed with music from James Bond, conductor Ennio Morricone, The Corrs and the loveable soul Elton John wrapped things up for the final show. Luckily the rain wasn’t too bad, but heading into the next event, we had to put our wellies on.

Love Supreme

Grace Jones

Grace Jones

This year saw Glastonbury at it’s muddiest and there was no denying that Britain encountered it’s wettest and muddiest Summer’s for years.  But that didn’t wipe the smile from our faces as a week later, (there ain’t no rest for the wicked) saw EML take a trip to the stunning surroundings of Glynde Place near Brighton for Love Supreme. The festival hosts some of the most highly acclaimed jazz, blues and funk inspired acts from around the world. This year was no different, as the amazing and quirky Grace Jones took the stage Saturday night and the charming and talented singer songwriter Burt Bachurach on the Sunday. Since the birth of Love Supreme Festival, EML have supplied food concessions, sponsorship and merchandise so it has been amazing to have seen the festival grow year on year. We are already extremely excited for 2017 as the jazzed up beast looks to evolve into something even bigger. More news on that to follow.

Big Feastival

Say Cheese

” I do like a bit of Gorgonzola,” An event inspired  by great music and fantastic food it can only be Big Feastival. Held on the last bank holiday weekend in August, the feast is curated by TV chef Jamie Oliver and Blur Bassist Alex James where there is a whole lot of cheese, food and drink stalls, plus performances from some of pop music’s biggest acts, and cheese. EML were yet again asked to provide the official merchandise for the event and were part of creating the lanyard that attendees could receive when they purchased their ticket. It was another successful year for us at Alex James’ farm, but our trouser buttons were flying off by the end of the event from all the wensleydale cheese.

OnBlackheath 2016

OnBlackheath 2016

OnBlackheath

We decided we were getting a bit homesick, so we ventured back to London for OnBlackheath. All guns blazing, we decided to show what we are made off by not only supplying merch but also curating the highly acclaimed food village and brand activations. We thought the line up couldn’t get any better than last year but of course the promoter Harvey Goldsmith and his team knocked it out of the park again. This year’s headliners included Primal Scream, Belle & Sebastian, Hot Chip, James and Squeeze, to name a few! Oh and we can’t forget mr funk and soul, our brother from another funky mother Craig Charles! Check out some of our pics from the event on our Facebook page.

Boundary Brighton Festival

Finally we come to the end of what has one of Events most entertaining Summer’s in it’s existence. Lights out and glow sticks on, we had a right rave up at Boundary Brighton Festival. Well it wasn’t all play, we managed food concessions for the event too. The sun stayed shinning thankfully and was a great way to say adios to the festival season for another year.
